I'm So Sure by Jenny B. Jones

Rating: 5 Stars

Take a prom queen mystery, a wrestler reality show, a super hot newspaper editor, and an ex-boyfriend who keeps popping up. What do you get? Jenny B. Jones’s newest book, I’M SO SURE. Book two in the Charmed Life series is just as laugh out loud, sassy, and hands down fantastic as book one. It’s one of those drop-everything-you’re-doing-and-read-this kind of books. (For me, never mind that I had a huge test the next day, I sat down and read I'M SO SURE in one sitting.) The characters in this novel are so fun and crazy and make this book impossible to put down. With Bella, nothing is simple. Expect surprises, craziness, and humor galore as she navigates life, boys, and God. My only complaint? Book three isn’t out yet…

Shopaholic Takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella

Rating: 5 Stars

Becky is as hilarious and endearing as in the first Shopaholic novel. I highly recommend this series. You will not be disappointed. It's very clean chick-lit. No gratuitous sex scenes. Some cursing is used, though.

Writer For Christ

Love Finds You in Holiday, Florida by Sandra D. Bricker

Rating: 5 Stars

Cassie Constantine is bound and determined to do something she has never done before, but isn't sure how to go about it. Traveling to sunny Holiday, Florida to sell her late husband's vacation home, she encounters more than she bargains. Quirky, lovable neighbors, two hideous plastic flamingos and a handsome distraction --- none of which she wants. But with their gentle guidance, she discovers the qualities she always thought were hidden, just needed a little excavation.

Sandra D. Bricker has a wonderful sense of humor and knows how to incorporate it into a novel. A fun, easy read, it will keep you laughing and smiling all the way to the end. The development of characters was great, their conflict and interaction is fun to read and sizzled from the page. It's an upbeat read that you will leave you cheering until the last page is turned, I loved every moment! Highly recommended!

The Hope of Refuge by Cindy Woodsmall

Rating: 4 Stars

Loved her first series, so I decided to give this one a try. I'm only about halfway through, but so far, so good. I'm getting worried everything won't be wrapped up by the end of the book and I'll be waiting for the next one in the series.

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

A book that keeps you wondering and also has heartrending moments. I find myself getting involved with the characters wanting to reach out an smack someone or hold one of them.

Linda

The Call of Zulina by Kay Marshall Strom

Rating: 4 Stars

This is a great story of a young woman. Grace, born of an Englishman and a Black Princess through an arranged marriage. The same was to happen to her, and she rejected it. Her father was a slave trader and her mother encouraged his work, although she thought him to be weak. The balance of the novel is about how the daughter found her life back again. Lots of twists to keep the pages turned to the end.

K. Thorne

Cry in the Night by Colleen Coble

Rating: 4 Stars

It is so nice to order. get back together again with familiar characters Bree, Kade, Davy ad even Samson. This book wraps up some loose ends from the series. My only complaint is I needed a character list to keep everyone and their friendships, courtships and family relationships in order.

Rating: 4 Stars

A story about friendship and secrets. Two ladies in different stages of life --- one, a writer whose lover just died, is trying to escape and process her grief, the other, an elderly lady who has lived with a painful, horrific secret that has always isolated herself from the community and her family. They both need each other and find a friend. Poetic read.

Dawn's Light by Terri Blackstock

Rating: 4 Stars

Just finished this. It is book four of the Restoration series. Wow, I couldn't put it down. I have read three of the four books and I loved them. My daughter saw me almost finish reading and said, "Mom, you just started that book yesterday. I laughed and said I know but it's too good. I am not usually a suspense novel reader, but Terri Blackstock has changed my mind forever.

The Convenient Groom by Denise Hunter

Rating: 5 Stars

Kate Lawrence is the author of FINDING MR. RIGHT-FOR-YOU, a book about relationships. Her book is released on “Dr. Kate’s” awaited wedding day, and her mystery groom is about to be revealed. However, her fiancé jilts her a few hours before the wedding is to begin. Now what will the media say, and what will happen to her book? Kate panics, and she accepts a spontaneous offer from her landlord to stand in as her groom, without knowing all his reasons for volunteering. Denise Hunter makes this unusual premise work well; in fact, it is quite romantic. Her endearing main characters are well-developed, and her theme of unconditional love and acceptance is clear. The powerful ending will make you say, “Wow!” Her very satisfying book is set in scenic Nantucket, and is part of the Nantucket Love Story series.

Dearest Dorothy, If Not Now, When? by Charlene Ann Baumbich

Rating: 5 Stars

This latest offering is the sixth in the Dearest Dorothy series by local author, Charlene Ann Baumbich. It is every bit as good as the first title in the series, DEAREST DOROTHY, ARE WE THERE YET? This is an engaging, hilarious story about the small, Illinois town of Partonville and all its activities and endearing characters. All is overseen by lively 88-year-old Dorothy Jean Wetstra. Baumbich makes one care about her characters and their lives. I can hardly wait to read the next installment of this inspired series!

Very entertaining read. The story and characters were a lot of fun! There are some graphic scenes in the novel, but I would not let that deter a mature adult from reading it.

Redeemed Hearts by Cathy Marie Hake

A Heartsong Presents novel that is short but very fast paced and entertaining. I read it in a day because I could just not put it down and had to know how things played out. It's not just a romance, but a bit of a mystery too.
