AP

Until We Reach Home by Lynn Austin

Rating: 5 Stars

Fabulous story about 3 sisters who emmigrate to Chicago from Sweden. There are twists and turns in the family drama and you will never be able to put the book down! I want a sequel.

A Mile in My Flip Flops by Melody Carlson

Rating: 4 Stars

A very easy read. I read it one rainy afternoon. But Melody Carlson does not disappoint.

Audrey L

Blue Heaven by C. J. Box

Rating: 3 Stars

A murder mystery/thriller that is sometimes a little scary and chilling, but always engrossing.

Andrea Schultz

Wild Goose Chase by Mark Batterson

Rating: 5 Stars

Mark does a great job in reminding us that it is an adventure to pursue God. The title of the book comes from a the name that Celtic Christians used to describe the Holy Spirit - –An Geadh-Glas, or ‘the Wild Goose.’ It's a great description of what it's like to follow the Spirit through life.

Lover of Fiction

The Christmas Edition by Robin Shope

Rating: 5 Stars

This is a fanulous Christmas novel about love, forgiveness and renewed hope. The author brings the senses alive in this contemporary romance about lost love and renewed faith.

BOO by Rene Gutteridge

Rating: 4 Stars

This book is the first in a series of four books by Ms. Gutteridge and the first time I had read any of her work. A light-hearted comedic read with a fun mystery; the characters are quirky and nutty and the town of Skary is quaint and unique --- although I don't think I'd be interested in anything on the menu at The Haunted Mansion Restaurant. A fun and funny read.

Ransomed Dreams by Amy Wallace

Rating: 4 Stars

An entertaining, fast-paced, suspenseful mystery read with a valuable message of hope, forgiveness and letting go of bitterness. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this Defenders of Hope series with Clint and Sara's story.

Dewey by Vicki Myron with Bret Witter

Rating: 4 Stars

This unique and charming story is a wonderful testament to the the impact that animals can have not only to people, but communities and even the world. I enjoyed reading this uplifting book that not only made me laugh but also cry. Ms. Myron's tractor blade analogy is heart-touching and the lesson she shares: "Find your place. Be happy with what you have. Treat everyone well. Live a good life. It isn't about material things; it's about love. And you can never anticipate love." is something that I will try to carry with me always.

Healing Promises by Amy Wallace

Rating: 4 Stars

This 2nd book in the Defenders of Hope series picks right up where RANSOMED DREAMS ended and reunites us with all of the characters from the previous book, but with Clint and Sara's story taking center stage. A gripping and thought invoking read dealing with two different yet interconnected storylines. With my Mother having just finished battling with chemo and radiation treatments, it was emotional for me to readhow Clint and Sara both struggle to cope with this disease. The kidnapping/serial killer plot is compelling and suspenseful and will keep you hooked to the very end. I"m looking forward to reading Michael and Hanna's story in the next installment.

Angel at Troublesome Creek by Mignon F. Ballard

Rating: 4 Stars

This 2nd book in the Augusta Goodnight Mysteries series was a fun and quick cozy read full of mystery, and a little romance and suspense. I'm ready to read the next installment and see what delicious items Augusta is baking and what new fashion creations she has sewn up.

Season for Grace by Linda Goodnight

Rating: 5 Stars

This is the first book in the Brothers' Bond Trilogy, about brothers who are separated as children by the foster care system. The oldest brother wants to find his brothers some twenty years later. He doesn't believe God cares and doesn't want to depend on anyone but himself. He meets a social worker and her family who assist in his search for the truth. An excellent story of how you can love someone to Christ.

Theresa

Ruthless Trust by Brennan Manning

Rating: 5 Stars

This is an amazing book to read, especially if you are struggling.

Deanna K

True LIght by Terri Blacksstock

Rating: 4 Stars

I'm actually listening to the audio book, and am about 1/3 through the novel --- the characters are realistic and the situation (no electricity or battery-run power for an entire region) is fresh. I look forward to driving every day so that I can find out what happens next!

Patty Le Blanc

A Taste of Murder by Virginia Smith

Rating: 5 Stars

Jasmine has accepted a job playing her violin with her two friends at a wedding. Derrick saw her on Shoutlife and hired her to play at his sister's wedding. Little did she know what her weekend would turn into. Think dead bodies, Bar-B-Q sauce, and a little romance. What more could anyone ask for? Virginia Smith brings yet another spectacular murder mystery in A TASTE OF MURDER. I loved this book and would even love a sequel. A great read all around.

D. Lohrding

In The Shadow of Lions by Ginger Garrett

Rating: 5 Stars

Great view of Anne as a Christian and not a bossy bully. I truly enjoyed this book and am anxious for the next one in this series!

The Face by Angela Elwell Hunt

Rating: 4 Stars

This is about a woman born without a face. She is raised by a US intelligence group on an isolated island. This book has mystery, intrigue and a heroine that tugs at your emotional heart strings. I was lucky to get an ARC of this book ---it is one I will definitely recommend.

Leave It To Chance by Sherri Sand

Rating: 5 Stars

First of all I totally love the cover. Sierra Montgomery is a single mom who suddenly, out of the blue, inherits a horse. She barely has the money to make ends meet as it is, let alone adding a horse to the mix. Her kids find out about the horse and desperately want to keep it, but Sierra wants to sell it for the money. Sierra becomes torn between pleasing her kids after all the heartache with the divorce and just plain needing the money.

Sierra's mother has a solution, but it doesn't quite fit into Sierra's plans. Part of this plan includes a hunky rancher named Ross who has a barn where she can keep her horse. Ross has his own issues to deal with, but it seems God is working some kind of agenda with both of them that they are not quite willing to follow. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

The Outsider by Ann H. Gabhart

Rating: 5 Stars

This story is about forbidden love in the Shaker village in 1812 Kentucky. I had never really heard much about the Shakers. It was very interesting to learn about them and their beliefs. The main character, Gabrielle, meets a doctor when he comes to their community to help after a barn fire. Gabrielle finds herself drawn to him and yet feels strongly about her Shaker beliefs, which strictly forbid any relationships between men and women (like I said, very interesting). Gabrielle begins to question her belief system and is also torn because she has never known anything else. It was a very riveting story that kept me flipping pages so quickly to find out the conclusion. A highly captivating story that I would highly recommend. I loved it to the very end.

My Heart Remembers by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Rating: 5 Stars

What a very special story of the power of God's love and family ties. Maelle is the oldest of three children orphaned when their parents die in a fire. They are all sent on a train to Missouri to be adopted. Despite Maelle's fight to keep her siblings together, all three go to separate families. She vows to find them and gives each of them something to take with them to remember their family. The story follows each of the siblings in their three separate lives and weaves them together in a way that could only be created by God. To this end, it shows the power of God and his protection over us and how he has a plan for each one of us. This has become one of my favorites. I thoroughly loved the historical part of it and the intertwined romance and scripture made it even more enjoyable. Definitely worth the read!
