Snitch by Rene Gutteridge

Rating: 5 Stars

SNITCH is full of suspense, intrigue and mysterious murders, with lots of humor. I enjoy inspirational messages, and this book gave me all of that.

Alena Kelly

Identity Theft by Mike Breaux

Rating: 5 Stars

Whether people are investigating church and God or are committed Christians, both can be victims to stolen joy. So many people are still pained by their past, obsessed about their appearances, stressed about their success, or can’t see that they are involved in unhealthy, even “toxic” relationships. This book opens real discussions to help people find (or restore) their true identity in Christ.

The Parent You Want to Be by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott

Rating: 5 Stars

This book gently leads readers to reflect on ten traits worth considering to becoming the parent you want to be, and then focus on the top two. As a mother of 4, I have to admit I have more than two that I want to work on, personally; but because of the authors' no-guilt guidance, humor encouragement, I know I can do it! This is a great book for all parents at any stage of parenting!

The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian

Rating: 5 Stars

Women, this book is awesome in teaching you how to pray diligently as a Woman of God. This is the second book of hers that I have read and I plan on reading as many as I can. These books are great in helping you learn how to be closer to God.

Christy Jastram

Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose

Rating: 5 Stars

This is an amazing true story of a young missionary woman who faced incredible circumstances as a prisoner of war during the Japanese occupation. There are also some pictures to look at as you read, which makes it even more real. She never should have survived, but God was her constant source of strength and hope. She is a living testimony of what it's like to have a relationship with God in the midst of evil, dispair and hopelessness.

Pat

In the Eyes of the Serpent by Carole Cargal Reeves

Rating: 5 Stars

This riveting historical fantasy takes place 200 years before the Great Flood. Noah and the woman he loves are caught up in the forces of evil, which threaten to destroy their world, one person at a time.

Betty

Monster by Frank Peretti

Rating: 5 Stars

My husband, adult daughter and I just finished reading this book aloud on our recent trip to Calgary in the RV. We have read all of Peretti's books in this manner and have really enjoyed them. This was less of a thriller, but was a very good read. We stopped our reading to discuss why the various characters did what they did.

TP

A Proper Pursuit by Lynn Austin

Rating: 2 Stars

A story about a young woman visiting Chicago during the 1893 World Fair. The novel never seemed to develop fully and the plot (finding the heroine's mother who abandoned her as a child) was overshadowed by all the secondary characters the heroine met during her brief visit.

Julia's Hope by Leisha Kelly

Rating: 5 Stars

I love this book and the complete series! I am so excited that a new installment comes out this fall. I have recommended this series to many people. I like the fact that it shows that there are rays of hope during troubled times. I know that God takes care of His children and His grace is sufficient!

Woman, Thou Art Loosed by T. D. Jakes

Rating: 5 Stars

It was recommended that I read this book after a difficult time in my life. It talks about not living it the state of being a victim, but overcoming the situation with the knowledge that your God will give you strength to overcome the ordeal. As it reads in Luke 13:12 KJV 12 --- "And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity."

I was was glad that I bought myself my own copy. Mine has prayers written in the edges and it is tear stained from the beginning to the end. It is not a long book, but it will have life long effects! It's a must for women and the men who love them.

Every Woman's Battle by Shannon Ethridge

Rating: 5 Stars

This book is so great and awesome. It helps in every aspect of your life to aid you with spiritual and emotional integrity.

Jon Gresham

Baghdad Believer by J Nealson

Rating: 5 Stars

I really liked this first-hand story of life in Baghdad. The main character is a shopkeeper who is given a secret book and then starts having dreams. This increases his paranoia, and the conflicts within himself, and with his wife and parents. Through a number of beatings and deaths of other family members, Mahmood finds both internal peace and is able to become a peacemaker in his community. This is a different view of life in Baghdad than is presented in traditional news media, and gives hope that there is good in Baghdad. The most interesting points are those where cultural norms, such as lies and deception, seem to be a difficult obstacle to true peacemaking. If it is normal and expected to lie, even with an oath, then what does that say about the political leaders?

Saint by Ted Dekker

Rating: 5 Stars

In SAINT, Ted Dekker again leads the reader on a wonderful roller-coaster ride full of hidden twists and turns about the lead character(s) in the story. Dekker knows how to keep it real and cause one to look at the supernatural that occurs in our everyday lives.

Dear Jane Letters by Amanda Hamm

Rating: 5 Stars

One Amazon reviewer described this book as a "sqeaky-clean" romantic comedy. I'm not sure she meant that in a positive way, but it caught my attention. I loved it! It's essentially chick lit, but with no sex or profanity. And, the main character even goes to church every week...with her family. It's great, funny, light reading.

Linda V

Rachel's Prayer by Leisha Kelly

Rating: 5 Stars

The Worthams' faith and courage is tested when sons go to war and hard times come. The story is very relevant to what a lot of families are going through now. By speaking through each character, you get a real feel for how war affects the different family members. Trust in the Lord is the underlining theme.

Laughing in the Dark by Chonda Pierce

Rating: 5 Stars

Pierce is a comedian by trade, but has had lots of heartbreak in her life, and had to deal with depression while trying to be "on." This is a memoir of someone who is hurting on the inside and functioning on the outside.

Christina Fletcher

Look Great, Feel Great by Joyce Meyer

Rating: 5 Stars

Very helpful and insightful book!

Ariel Coro

The Lost Diary of Don Juan by Douglas Carlton Abrams

Rating: 5 Stars

One of the best historical fiction books I've read in a long time!
