The Lion Vrie by Christopher Hopper |

Rating: 5 Stars |
I just finished this book, right after reading the first in the White Lion Chronicles series, RISE OF THE DIBOR. I was so caught up in the story that, at times, I felt as if I were right there with the characters. I can't wait for the third book!

The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
An excellent book about a group of immigrants who bring their customs and beliefs to America, and how this gets misconstrued and turned, around and the people learn about the "real" last sin eater. Very well done, they movie did justice to the book as well.

The Girls by Lori Lansens |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
This novel about conjoined twins Rose and Ruby --- who, at 29, also happen to be the oldest living conjoined twins on record --- was a revelation. Even though the girls are destined to be together forever, their distinct personalities shine through in this book about love, loss, joy and sorrow, and ultimately saying goodbye.

Back on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
What a delight of a book! Macomber introduces some new characters to her Blossom Street series while still evolving the characters we've come to know and love. They deal with real-life, "right now" issues while still leaning on one another and deepening their friendships. The messages of forgiveness and repentance were clear but not preachy, and our entire book club adored it!

This book is a great Christian beach read. So funny! I laughed so hard I had people looking at me strangely and moving away from me on the beach. I want to be friends with the women in this book! They have such funny adventures.

Even Now by Karen Kingsbury |
|
Rating: 4 Stars |
This story of redemption and grace carries you along even as you are screaming at the characters to stop making bad, unwise, uneducated choices. At the end, EVEN NOW communicates clearly the message of unconditional love.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.Rowling |

Rating: 4 Stars |
I am adult who has read every one of the Harry Potter books. This one, which I will not spoil by alluding to any of the specifics, consistently brought to mind the gospel story of redemption. I really loved this book.

Blue Shoe by Anne Lamont |
|
Rating: 4 Stars |
I love Anne Lamott. There is something refreshing about someone who dares to share honestly the struggles of life. She does it in a non-pitying way that gives one comfort for one's own messiness. Even though she would hardly be called a conventional Christian and my political beliefs are directly opposite hers, there is something about BLUE SHOE that leads me into a deeper dependence on the Lord.
