Journey to the Well by Vashti McKenzie

The Night Before Christmas and The Christmas Story. My children received copies and I am going to get copies for my grandchildren this year. I buy the most beautiful ones I can find. They both display faith and belief and the wonder of the world.

The Christmas Blessing by Donna VanLiere

A Nun in the Closet by Dorothy Gilman. Its main characters were a couple of nuns, one named Sister Hyacinthe. I remember her because she was always serene in the face of everything...she had "Perfect Faith," the thing I've asked the Lord for myself. She always said "The Lord would provide" and He always did. It was a fun book and I'd love to read it again.

The best books that I have given have been by either Jan Karon, Jamie Langston Turner, or Patricia Sprinkle.

The Christmas Blessing. My sister had recently lost her son in a tragic accident, three years earlier I had lost my husband of 22 years to a kidney disease. Christmas just wasn't the same for either of us. Our younger sister gave The Christmas Shoes to my other sister, and The Christmas Blessing to me, with this inscription: To inspire us to count our blessings and look for our miracles. With Much love, Your little Sister. I cried through much of it...but it warmed my heart and inspired me just as she prescribed.

My favorite book to give each year is An Angel's Story by Max Lucado. I originally bought it when it was Cosmic Christmas and now as a gift book. I reread it every Christmas. It is such an amazing story by such an amazing writer.
