If you were to read a fiction title with your ministry group, what would you suggest?
Sarah EDGE OF ETERNITY by Randy Alcorn
*****
Jenn S Our group once read LETTERS FOR EMILY by Camron Wright and it was a fantastic story about a man with Alzheimer's Disease, and the letters he wrote for his granddaughter, Emily. Very touching story!
I'd also recommend MEMOIRS OF PONTIUS PILATE by James R. Mills. It's a fictional account of the crucifixion story, but written from Pilate's point of view. For me, it brought the story "to life."
Lastly, Karen Kingsbury's book, ON EVERY SIDE, was a great read about the separation of church and state. There was also a small romance going on, too. It was good for sparking discussion!

Joyce CHANGE OF HEART by Jodi Picoult
*****
Joy Hertzberg DIVINE by Karen Kingsbury or WHISPERS OF THE BAYOU by Mindy Starns Clark
*****
Harry Ludwig WHO'S AFRAID OF POSTMODERNISM? by James K. A. Smith (Baker, 2006). I know it's supposed to be non-fiction, but it would be a good exercise to see how wacky the reasoning of new movements is and what to guard against.

Darby Lohrding The Shack
*****
Alex Definitely would select BARBARA AND SUSAN'S GUIDE TO THE EMPTY NEST by Susan Yates and Barbara Rainey! I love that book!
*****
I <3 Jesus! I would read Harry Potter and discuss the theological undertones. Fun and faithful!!
*****
Malvina Yock REDEEMING LOVE by Francine Rivers
*****
ShyEyes THE ROAD HOME by Tommy Tenney and Mark Andrew Olson --- it is an excellent book about faith, love, and family. It's a modern-day retelling of Ruth & Naomi, who go from Moab to Bethlehem. I enjoyed the characters, and the sites and insights along the road. A very good and inspirational read for any book group, as well as a great book to introduce the Bible to an unbeliever.

Alice Edelman The Shack

Cathy The Seat Beside Me
*****
Cathy Room of Marvels
*****
Cathy Israel, My Beloved
*****
Tamara Scott-Gantz THE SHACK by William Young
It is the most beautiful story of forgiveness.
*****
Imogene Covin NAPPILY FAITHFUL by Trish R. Thomas, THE JOYS OF MOTHERHOOD by Buchi Emecheta, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith, SANCTIFIED BLUES by Mable John & David Ritz, MOON MARKED AND TOUCHED BY THE SUN, edited by Sydne Mahone, and Walter Mosely's Easy Rawlins series
*****
Arin THE SHACK by William Young. This title could be for men and/or women in a book club. Also for a woman's book club, THE POTLUCK CLUB by Linda Evans Shepard, THE YADA YADA PRAYER GROUP and the Sister chicks Series is great too.
