What are some examples of books where you feel the Message blended well with the fiction?
Sharon Ruffin The Yada Yada Prayer Group series. Wonderful, enlightening books.
*****
Mizbooks THE HEIR by Paul Robertson was so well done that I barely noticed the Message tucked into its tale! And, I think that that's a great way to do Christian Fiction, so that more people who wouldn't *normally* read this sort of book will be more inclined to read it without being "turned off" by being "preached at". ;o)
*****
Elaine Brydon Any of Jan Karon's Mitford series books and the Harmony series by Philip Gulley.
*****
Margaret Gamble REDEEMING LOVE by Francine Rivers
*****
Dorothy Cowling I think that Jamie Langston Turner and Lisa Samson do this very well and with excellent writing.
*****
Billie McHam All of Karen Kingsbury's, Lori Wick's and Terri Blackstock's books
*****
Terry Fowler The Heartsong Presents line --- while a few have said the books are too religious, I feel the stories are well blended. Basically all the inspirational lines do an excellent job of blending the message.
*****
Sarah THR3E and SAINT by Ted Dekker --- Both had great messages, but they become very clear toward the end!
THE OATH by Frank Peretti
*****
Dawn Cronk DIVINE by Karen Kingsbury. This story of Mary Magdalene was well done, and written in today's world. It was very heart wrenching, warm, and wonderful. I liked that God freed her, but not all prayers are answered the way we want them.
*****
Wendy Griffith The book series Tales from Grace Chapel Inn
*****
Laura Pond THE COPPER SCROLL by Joel C. Rosenberg.
*****
Dj Melody Carlson's True Colors series, as well as the Diary of a Teenage Girl series.
*****
Mara Mittelman In all honesty, I usually feel the message in all the books I read. God directs me to which books I should read. And although they are fiction, He uses them to talk to me...teach me. I am thankful for all the authors and their talent they share with us all.
*****
Dawnymae I think DIVINE by Karen Kingsbury blended the message of God's love for us, no matter what we do, is evident throughout the book without being "preachy."
