What is a book that you found while browsing that was an unexpected delight?
Joanne THE NOVELIST by Angela Hunt --- I just randomly saw it and decided to give it a chance. Glad I did!
*****
Rita Bulington COMES A HORSEMAN by Robert Liparulo I'm not sure 'delight' is quite the word I would use. . .but I really liked this book. It's a debut novel and full of suspense. I could see the charachters continued in a series of books. I'm anxious to see what he comes out with next.

Deena Peterson Christy Barritt's HAZARDOUS DUTY was a treasure I accidentally discovered while browsing. She is a delightful new suspense/romance author with a sense of humor that tickles your funny bone while dealing with unvbelievable circumstances. Her voice is genuine and I can't wait for more!
*****
Merril Tlusty SECRETS by Robin Jones Gunn
After discovering this title, I had to read the entire series, and now everything that Gunn writes!

Stephanie L.A. Kelly's books TAHN and RETURN TO ALASTAIR are some of the best Christian books I have read since the Chronicles of Narnia! I loved the books, they held me and kept me there with Tahn and Lady Netta. It was a read I shall surely never forget --- a romance I was looking for! They were filled to the brim with love, action, and adventure. Those of you who love that right and whole kind of love --- the kind you can feel when you read about it --- I recommend that you read TAHN and RETURN TO ALISTAIR. The Scarlet Trefoil is next in the series and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. What will happen to Tahn and Lady Netta?!
*****
Veta Lotspeich DEAR AND GLORIOUS PHYSICIAN by Taylor Caldwell, written in the 60s.
*****
Malvina THE WHITNEY CHRONICLES by Judy Baer --- so charming, so funny, and such a lovely underlying Christian message.
*****
John Quinn THE STONES CRY OUT by Sibella Giorello. The story was the best I have ever read. The author's knowledge of forensics and cases is very real to the reader. I congratulate her on her first of many books to come.

Becky Gooch MILE FROM SUNDAY by Jo Kadlecek
*****
Sherry Floyd EVEN NOW by Karen Kingsbury
*****
Ronna Lord I found THREE by Ted Dekker before he became a more popular Christian author. I went back and read all of his earlier books after that, and have kept up with him since!!!
*****
Jean Robbins THE DEAD DON'T DANCE by Charles Martin
*****
R. Y. Storteboom A HISTORY OF READING by Alberto Manguel was a 'sale table' purchase the day before traveling. The 18-hour flight to East Africa has never gone by so fast. Meals and beverages were unwelcome interruptions, and I'm afraid I annoyed other passengers with my reading light. But it was worth it, and it is one of the few books I have kept to re-read. When we landed, and I was back in my cozy little rooms in Addis Ababa, I copied entire pages into my journal BEFORE letting jet-lag take me over.
*****
Jane Sears DEAREST DOROTHY, ARE WE THERE YET? Delightful. I Had never heard of this series.

Jane Ann Railey-Clear ARKANSAS by Christina Lynxwiler - I was drawn to it by its title since I live in Arkansas. It consisted of four delightful stories about four brothers living here in Arkansas, and many places and things were so familar.

Deena Peterson I stumbled across HAZARDOUS DUTY by Christy Barritt and found a wonderful new author. Gabby St. Claire is an almost criminologist who cleans up crime scenes for a living. When she accidentally uncovers evidence in a murder investigation, her skills as an investigator are required of her. Her handsome neighbor, Riley, is a complication she didn't count on, but all ends up well... I look forward to more from Christy Barritt.

Deborah Jeter Davlin REDEEMING LOVE by Francine Rivers

Mary Taylor THE COLOR OF YOUR HEART AIN'T THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN.
It's a wonderful book and not the first one in the series, so I had to go back and find the others too.

C. J. Darlington I picked up IN SEARCH OF EDEN by Linda Nichols, knowing nothing about the author, or the book. But the storyline intrigued me. I read the first chapter and was even more intrigued. I started reading and couldn't put it down, and it delivered. I love unexpected delights like that.
